A muesli which is low in carbohydrates, featuring a special range of nutrients that makes it particularly suited for western horses. Also a valuable feed for the training of young horses or horses of all breeds with weak muscles.
Light feed for strong horses
Western riding is an extremely rich and diverse sport, pursued by people with at last two things in common: a relaxed approach to horse riding – and a love for horses who enjoy their work and who are able to keep a clear head. Western horses tend to be extremely well-muscled, simply as a result of their genetic inheritance. At the same time, they tend to be able to absorb feed very well – a unique combination of features calling for a very special kind of feed. And other breeds can certainly benefit from this feed concept.
NutriStar
The special feed for western horses and muscles. The muesli is extremely low in carbohydrates, featuring a special range of nutrients that makes it particularly suited for western horses. It contains a modest amount of high-quality protein. NutriStar also proved to be a valuable feed for the training of young horses or horses of all breeds with weak muscles.
A special support for the muscles
Western horses such as Quarter horses, Appaloosa, Pintos and others, which were originally bred to solely working with cattle, have a genetically inherited pre-disposition to build more muscles. The percentage of muscles making up their overall body weight also tends to exceed that of most other horse breeds, and yet, at the same time, their energy needs also tend to be lower than that of other horse breeds. This poses very special challenges when it comes to their feed, which has to be low in energy while, at the same time, provide an adequate supply of nutrients in order to ensure a proper muscle function. Failure to meet these requirements often translates into bones, tendons, ligaments and joints competing for the few nutrients available. In the long term, these serious deficiencies can lead to premature degenerative wear. But there are also individual horses of other horse breeds that benefit from a diet that is moderate in carbohydrates and high in proteins. A reasonable diet is also essential for calm, strong nerves and a good digestion.
Muscle-relevant ingredients
NutriStar has a very moderate overall protein, but high-quality protein content. The energy it provides is derived from pectin carriers, oleaginous fruits and oils. The resulting low-carbohydrate content is particularly beneficial to the muscles whose proper functioning is further promoted by a special mix of minerals and natural antioxidants such as vitamin E, which both protect the muscles from free radicals and which promote an efficient nutrient utilisation.
